Automation
Attendance includes automatic behavior that keeps records and balances current.
Automatic checkout
Section titled “Automatic checkout”When an attendance record is open, QTO schedules a one-time automatic checkout task. At checkout time, the task:
- Confirms the record is still open.
- Enforces the shift time budget.
- Closes any active break just before the effective checkout time.
- Checks out the employee.
- Marks the record as Auto Checkout.
- Sends an auto-checkout notification.
If the task fires early or checkout fails, QTO can schedule a bounded retry.
Scheduled breaks
Section titled “Scheduled breaks”Break times configured on a shift create scheduled tasks. At the configured time, QTO checks assigned employees and creates a Regular break if the employee is checked in and not already on break.
Leave accrual
Section titled “Leave accrual”Monthly-accrual leave policies are updated by a monthly task. The task recalculates allocated days based on policy rules and employee joining date.
Carry forward
Section titled “Carry forward”Eligible yearly leave policies can run year-end carry-forward. The task closes the period and moves eligible unused days according to policy limits.
Absence processing
Section titled “Absence processing”A nightly task checks workdays where active employees did not check in and do not already have a leave record. It can create leave or unpaid absence records according to leave policy behavior.
Cleanup
Section titled “Cleanup”Expired one-time background tasks are cleaned up weekly.
