Check In / Check Out
Clock In and Clock Out are employee self-service actions. They require attendance.can_checkin_checkout, an Employee profile, and an applicable active shift.
Clock In
Section titled “Clock In”- Open Attendance.
- Confirm your status is not already active.
- Select Clock In.
- Confirm the status changes to Working and the live timer starts.
After check-in, QTO creates an open attendance record and schedules automatic checkout according to the applicable shift.
Clock Out
Section titled “Clock Out”- Open Attendance while checked in.
- Select Clock Out.
- If a confirmation appears, review it.
- Select the checkout action to finish the session.
- Review the completed row in Attendance Records.
If you are on a break, QTO closes the open break before checkout. Working hours are then calculated as session duration minus total break duration.
Checkout limit prompt
Section titled “Checkout limit prompt”When required working time has been reached and checkout timing rules apply, QTO can show Checkout Limit Approaching.
Available actions:
- Continue Working
- Checkout Now
Continue Working extends the session by up to one hour, limited by the remaining shift budget. If no time remains, QTO can check the employee out and return a reason of allowance exhausted.
Automatic checkout
Section titled “Automatic checkout”Automatic checkout is scheduled for open attendance records. When it runs, QTO:
- Checks whether the record is still open.
- Closes any open break immediately before the effective checkout time.
- Performs checkout.
- Marks the row with Auto Checkout.
- Sends an auto-checkout notification when successful.
