Payroll FAQ

Payroll generation is blocked when the period end date is in the future. It also requires a valid active income tax year and valid salary profiles.

Why is a salary profile failing during payroll?

Common causes are missing active bank details, invalid percentage totals, fixed amounts that exceed base salary, an expired profile, or a profile that is not valid for the selected period.

Payroll uses step-up verification for protected salary values. Complete the Payroll salary access verification flow to reveal masked amounts.

What is the difference between Salary Records and Payslips?

They refer to the same generated payroll records in the current UI. The table is implemented as Salary Records, while user actions and dashboard shortcuts also use Payslips.

Bank transfer export checks finalization and rejects records that are not finalized.

Does finalization post accounting journals?

Needs product confirmation. The source contains journal functions, but those functions currently return early, so automatic journal posting should not be presented as active behavior.

Payroll uses Attendance data for expected hours, worked hours, overtime, under-hours, buffer hours, and payable hours. Under-hours can reduce pay after buffer and overtime compensation are applied.

Fixed deductions use their fixed amount. Percentage deductions are calculated from net pay after tax.
