Payroll configuration combines Payroll setup and Accounts configuration.
Required configuration
Section titled “Required configuration”| Configuration | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Payroll currency | Display currency used for payroll amounts. |
| Payroll accounts | Chart of account mappings used by payroll services. |
| Banks | Banks used in salary profile account details and exports. |
| Income Tax Years | Tax periods used by salary calculation. |

Payroll account mappings
Section titled “Payroll account mappings”Payroll configuration can reference:
- salary expense account
- overtime expense account
- income tax payable account
- payroll bank account
- bonus expense account
- allowance expense account
- retention bonus expense account
- cash account
- retention bonus parent account
- asset finance parent account
- extra salary bonus policy expense account
If required payroll accounts are not configured, payroll-related accounting operations can fail. The current codebase does not expose all accounting failures as public Payroll page copy, so administrators should verify Accounts configuration before payroll processing.
Banks are used in salary profile bank details and export filters. Bank detail forms can show Manage Banks when the user has access.
